Top 10 Django Projects Started in 2016 (So Far)

One of the cornerstones of Django is that there’s a solid core that others can extend and share their extensions. So it’s good to celebrate the best of those. Here’s my list derived from this query on Github for projects started this year.

1. django-zappa

Run django on aws lambda.

2. django-stackoverflow

Auto search your error on Stackoverflow

3. django-controlcenter

Add a dashboard with widgets to django. Uses chartist.js for building out the graphs.

4. ActivFlow

An extensible, full-featured workflow engine. Also, features a pretty nice looking GUI.

5. django-field-history

Keep a history of all changes to a particular model’s field. Store the field’s name, value, date and time of change, and the user that changed it.

6. python-diskcache

Swap out the caching built-in to django and use your disc space to cache.

7. django-anymail

Integrate several transactional email service providers (ESPs) into Django. Easily switch between Mailgun, Postmark, SendGrid, SparkPost, and has limited support for Mandrill.

8. django-admino

Adds an api onto django-admin endpoints.

9. django-safety

Allow users to deactivate remotely signed in users from other locations. Force password resets.

10. drf-url-filters

Cleanly implement validations of the queries for Django Rest Framework.
